Description & Mechanism

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the adrenocorticotropic hormone fragment ACTH(4–7), modified with a C-terminal Pro–Gly–Pro sequence to enhance metabolic stability. It was developed for experimental investigation of neuropeptide signalling, neuromodulation, and central nervous system regulatory pathways.

In biochemical and cellular research systems, Semax has been studied for its interactions with neuronal signalling pathways associated with neurotrophic factors, synaptic plasticity, and stress-response regulation.
